Throwback: Rajkumar Santoshi recalls when he replaced Sunny Deol with Ajay Devgn

In a beyond belief turn of events, director Rajkumar Santoshi replaced Sunny Deol with Ajay Devgn for the role of a kind-hearted dacoit.

And post the success of Gadar 2, the duo were coming together after a very long gap for a film which is being produced by none other than Aamir Khan.

But all of a sudden, he was replaced by Ajay Devgn in the film- it was a role of a kind hearted dacoit. In an interview with a leading film magazine, Santoshi claimed that Sunny backed out of the film regardless his costumes being ready.

Not many may be versed that Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have delivered some of the biggest hits of their career together with films like
Ghayal, Ghatak and Damini.

First it was Andaz Apna Apna, Sunny was supposed to do a guest apperance in the film but couldn’t reach on the sets as he was shooting in other corner of the city and as a last minute replacement the team got Govinda on board who was shooting closeby.

But when Sunny was asked about the same he shared that Santoshi didn’t even meet his designer, so how could even his costumes be ready and suggested that it would be better if Santoshi answers the reason behind his unceremonious exit from the film, while highlighting that neither the money or the dates were an issue.
