Veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar after staging a comeback after 20 years in a Bengali film with Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s”Amar Boss” has wrapped up her work. The shooting kicked-off in Sector Five, Kolkata, and many sequences were shot across the city.
The most famous Victoria Memorial in Kolkata was a witness to the film shoot since it opened on January 17, and Rakhee was shooting there.
The entire shooting schedule for the film has been completed, leaving Rakhee’s admirers eager to see her on the big screen for the first time in years.
Everyone were moved to tears as Rakhee finished shooting and bid adieu. The end of this cinematic adventure was met with profound feelings as the actors and crew said goodbye to a project that had become a shared passion.
A particularly touching moment unfolded as director Shiboprosad Mukherjee expressed his gratitude and admiration by kissing Rakhee’s hand, symbolizing the deep respect and camaraderie that had developed in the midst of the filming process.
In their joint statement, directors Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee expressed the profound impact of Rakhee Gulzar’s involvement in ‘Aamar Boss,’ stating, Rakhee’s unwavering dedication and timeless grace have been the driving force behind ‘Aamar Boss.’
And as As the cast and crew bid adieu to this transformative journey, the producer and director not just concluded a film; they were leaving behind an emotionally charged collaboration.
Reflecting on the wrap-up, Rakhee shared, that she had seen their films and liked them and hence, when the producer and director approached her with this script, she found it to be fresh. There are fresh faces, the script is fresh. She really enjoyed working with this team for giving her the inspiration to begin something new.
The film is now poised to weave its magic on the big screen, promising a cinematic treat for viewers in the upcoming release.
Renowned for illuminating the silver screen for decades, Rakhee Gulzar is made a comeback in Bengali films after a hiatus of two decades.
Her last theatrical release in Bengal was Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘Shubho Mahurat’ in 2003. She was also seen in Gautam Halder’s ‘Nirban’, which did rounds of several film festivals in 2019. It has now been almost two decades since fans have seen Rakhee on the big screen in a Bengali film. Notably, Rakhee Gulzar has worked with top banners and actors in Bollywood. Her daughter Meghna Gulzar too has emerged as a successful di rector to reckon with.
