Amitabh Bachchan shares glimpse of his meet-and-greet session with fans outside Jalsa.
For the Legend of the Indian Film Industry, Amitabh Bachchan, Sunday is a ‘special day’ which he never misses unless there is an unavoidable
circumstance.
Recently, he shared a glimpse of his Sunday meet-and-greet session with fans outside Jalsa abode and expressed his gratitude in an emotion post.
Fans in thousands throng for his Darshan. Notwithstanding his busy schedule and work commitments, he has never failed, for years, to dedicate time to his loyal fans as he appears outside Jalsa every Sunday.
This Sunday, 18 February, was no exception. On Monday, the Legend in an emotional note penned on his blog, thanked his fans for this weekly ritual, who have been gathering outside his house just to catch a glimpse for years.
He also shared a video on X featuring a sea of people irrespective of their age eagerly waiting for him to appear at his doorstep and wave at them.
He wrote “Yeh nahi hai toh kuch nahi hai (There’s nothing if this isn’t there),” the 81-year-old actor captioned the heartwarming video.
The video showcases Amitabh flashing a warm smile, beaming with happiness and folding his hands in a namaste as he acknowledges the cheers and signs their artworks and posters.
Giving a peek into this customary Sunday meet-and-greet with his fans, the Senior Bachchan shared a series of heart-touching photos on his blog accompanied by a long emotional note, expressing his gratitude for the love he has received from his fans over the decades. He wrote “Each day is a scheduled presence of what the next few minutes are to be accomplished, adhered to, to prepare and look ahead… and when it does not occur… the desolation of emptiness and waste… so much so that the soft regularity of the deployed schedule gets avoided because the body and mind do not synchronize with each other… (sic)”
Thanking his fans for their dedication, he continued, “But this (a sea of people outside his bungalow) is the revelation of the anticipation… those familiar Ef… their dedication… their chants… their smiling faces… just for those fleeting few moments… and there is wonder ever… why how… my gratitude ever… my reasoning for its why and wherefore… never the hope of its happening… ever… (sic)”
Reflecting on the excess of everything materialistic that human beings desire—consumption, ambition, behaviour, indulgence, obsession, etc —he underscored that it leads to mental and physical health issues. He stressed the need for striking a balance between sufficiency and excess for sustainability and well-being. “Society must reassess its values, promoting moderation and mindful choices to mitigate the adverse effects of unchecked excess on the environment, economy, and individual lives,” he penned, adding, “and the sudden wonder… ‘do you really need this?’… is it essential to be in the category of material abundance… life shall draw close to its natural end… but the excess shall ever be left behind, unauthored, uncared for, and unused… love forever (sic).”
