MS Dhoni’s rare facebook post rouses internet over speculation of his final play this season? video goes viral
In a viral social media post on Monday MS.Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings captain, following the win in the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has sent speculation into overdrive claiming that a “new role” awaits him in the “new season”.
The former India captain, who led the Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL title last season, however, neither went on to mention the league nor elaborated on the new role. With his silence, he has left everyone guessing.
In a rare social media post on Facebook, he wrote that he can’t wait for the new season and the new ‘role’. Stay tuned!
Last year, the 42-year-old mostly came out to bat towards the fag end of CSK innings. He has not yet clarified whether he will captain CSK in IPL 2024.
At the post-match ceremony after winning the final last year, Dhoni when asked if he would retire on a high, the Ranchi dasher, in his inimitable style, deflected the query by saying that it would amount to taking an easy way out.
He went on to add that he would try to return next season as CSK captain subject to his body allowing him.
The wicketkeeper batter was spotted at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar recently. But he has not yet arrived at the CSK training camp that got underway in Chennai.
CSK are set to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their tournament opener on 22 March.
