0n his visit to Chennai, PM Modi took the opportunity to catch up with the legendary actress
Vyjayantimala at her residence.

Vyjayantimala, the actress admired across India and abroad, was recently honoured with Padma Vibhushan for her exemplary contribution to the world of Indian cinema.

Taking to his X (formerly twitter) PM Modi wrote, ‘he was glad to have met with the legendary actress

Vyjayantimala apart an actress par excellence, a dancer of repute, Is also a parliamentarian who has been honoured with several accolades, including five Filmfare Awards and two BFJA Award. Veteran actor anf filmmaker Raj Kapoor had given her the big break in ‘Sangam’ from which film she never looked back and has worked with the top actors besides Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Dev Anand

Regarded as one of Indian cinema’s finest actresses and dancers, she is the recipient of several accolades, including five Filmfare Awards and two BFJA Award.

Notedly, her on-screen chemistry with Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar brought her commercial success to the film producers. In Bollywood, she was linked to Silver Jubilee actor Rajendra Kumar, whereas in South she was linked to veteran actors Shivaji Ganeshan, Gemini Ganeshan and M.G.Ramchandran.
