Baba Siddiqui’s Iftaar party brings Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover together
Politician Baba Siddique has always headlined for various reasons. He shares a passionate bond with mostly all the B’town Celebs. His ‘Iftaar’ parties sees the attendance by most of the Celebrities.
Just as he was responsible to bring about an end to the battle amidst the two Khans – Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, likewise, he was in a way responsible to bring Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover together after five years.
Shah Rukh and Salman were not on talking terms for nearly five years. But on that fateful day, they came together and hugged, leading to jubilation in the industry and among fans.
OTT Giant Netflix in December 2023, released a quirky video with the announcement of a new show featuring Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Archana Puran Singh and others.
The video emerged as a talking point just not for its fun quotient but because it meant the re-union of Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover after a hiatus.
Both used to work together on the much-loved comic TV series ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.
Reportedly, in March 2017, they fought while on a flight. Kapil was under the influence of alcohol when he hit Sunil, which led to the latter quitting the show.
Interestingly, the Netflix video also hints at their mid-air fracas. Kapil Sharma tells viewers that he and Sunil are going to be in more than 190 countries (through their new show).
As of now, Sunil Grover has been seen in multiple projects like Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Goodbye, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan and web series like United Kacche and Sunflower. Sunflower’s second season, featuring Adah Sharma, was also released recently.
As for Kapil Sharma, he continues with his hit TV show. Last year, he was seen in a de-glam role in Nandita Das’ Zwigato and has a cameo in Crew, featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon.
Despite the 2017 fight, Sunil Grover and Kapil Sharma spoke highly of each other in interviews.
