While sharing interesting anecdotes on the song, Kunal Kemmu asserted that , he loves singing and has always done it as a hobby.
This wasn’t the plan, as there was an artist from another country who used to speak a different language altogether.
We heard that song and loved that it and it was not a song on friendship but loved the tune and the voice and reached out to that young artist.
He was in his zone, and was a bit spaced out and he wanted him to sing it in Hindi as a friendship song but there were too many delays happening in that.
He further added, that he remembers they were recording another song. He and Ankur Tiwari were at the studio and he just asked him to pick up the guitar. He ( Kunal Kemmu) said that guy is not doing anything and they will do something. No sooner he started playing the guitar Kunal had the thought on Dodo basically ‘Hum Yahin’ and he thinks everybody will relate with this song.
He went on to add that when Ankur was playing Kunal started humming it and at first he had only two lines but overnight wrote the song.
He called Ankur the next day and told him that he had a song. Kunal narrated the song to him. He loved it and they presented the same to Farhan and Ritesh who loved it too. So this is how this song came on board.
Taglined “Bachpan ke sapne…. lag gaye apne,” Madgaon Express ensures a nostalgic journey into childhood dreams.
