Archana Puran Singh, acknowledged for her role on The Kapil Sharma Show, recently admitted to having ‘fake laughed’ in the past but emphasized that it no longer happens.
She reflected on the criticism she faced for it, mentioning how her laughter was sometimes used to elevate jokes that lacked punch.
However, she noted that over time, her approach to laughter has evolved, and she now genuinely laughs at good jokes.
Alongside Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, and others, Archana is set to entertain audiences once again in the The Kapil Sharma Show on Netflix. In a recent media interaction, she reflected on her journey on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and addressed the criticism she faced for what some deemed as “fake-laughing” at jokes that fell flat.
Archana categorically shared that she could never ever imagine that one day know, her laughter will make her more famous.
She went on to add that as an actress, she always deemed it would be her performances that would be acknowledged, but see where destiny takes you.
She expressed her joy in having what she considers the “best job in the world,” highlighting how she’s constantly “laughing her way to the bank.”
Addressing the past criticism of laughing at subpar jokes, Archana admitted, that earlier people used to say that she laughed at bad jokes as well, it didn’t go welll with her.
She went ahead in explaining the dynamism behind it, mentioning how sometimes her laughter was used by the makers to elevate jokes that lacked punch, but it didn’t always resonate well with the audience. This led to criticism and questioning of the integrity of her laughter.
On Archana’s evolution over the time, she noted that in the last three years, since we are doing the show, and especially now when we are on Netflix, it doesn’t happen. She genuinely laughs at the good jokes and also mentioning how the editing techniques used in the past would sometimes create a perception that she found everything hilarious, even jokes that weren’t particularly funny.
Reflecting on her journey, Archana expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of such a successful show. She remarked, “It’s a great opportunity to watch one episode, one show, people crave to catch the event, to watch the live Kapil Sharma show, and she is there watching it like a guest, every time.
