Bollywood was flabbergasted when Neelam, the reigning queen in the 80’s and 90’s.
took a decision to bid adieu to acting. With this she also hurt a number of her fans and well-wishers.
In the midst of her conversation with a news agency, Neelam opened up on her journey and revealed she bid adieu to the industry. She went on to articulate that her journey has been like a yo-yo, adding that she saw a big start in the 80s and 90s, but then she had to be a part of her family’s jewellery business. Later, she returned with a bang with ‘Fabulous Lives’. It’s been incredible. She felt it very fortunate to have these opportunities come her way. So, her journey in a nutshell, she would just say it’s been a roller coaster ride. She has seen ups and downs as well.
Neelam further went on to add that when she reached the age of 50, she thought her shelf life was over. Moreover, she got very complacent, just going to the office and coming back home being a mom, being a wife and being a working mom. And all of a sudden, you know, I’m back, you know, with a bang…so it shows age is just a number.”
Infact, she took a break from the acting profession when she was at the peak of her career when she was at the top. She felt that’s how people have sort of somehow remembered her also because she didn’t fizzle out.
Neelam’s most recent work project includes Audible’s podcast series ‘Marvel’s Wastelanders: Wolverine’. She has lent her voice to the character of Jean Grey.
In the coming months, the actress will be seen in the third season of ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’.
