Transgender woman boards ‘Love, Sex Aur Dhokha 2’
Ekta R Kapoor and Balaji Motion Pictures have brought on board
‘Love, Sex Aur Dhokha 2
Transgender woman Bonita Rajpurohit to play a leading role in the Dibakar Banerjee’s directorial.
The film, a sequel to Banerjee’s 2010 film “Love Sex Aur Dhokha”, releases on April 19.
As per the makers, the Rajasthan born Rajpurohit is the first transgender woman to lead a Hindi film. She plays Kullu in the movie.
In ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’, released in 2010, Ektaa introduced many new faces to the entertainment industry. But it’s for the first time Ektaa becomes the first producer to launch a transgender-woman as a lead in ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2’.
Earlier, Rajpurohit worked at a production house and as a model, in the film was a dream come true.
The transgender revealed that to see women like her on screen, to see and trans representation on screen is her biggest motivation. She never thought she would work in films. She is grateful to Ektaa Kapoor for giving her an opportunity to play a lead character in a Bollywood film. Some dreams just come true.
In a video shared on the Balaji Motion Pictures Instagram page, Bonit, the transgender woman articulated that it’s not about playing a character, but, about touching her trigger point and doing it audaciously in front of a camera takes a lot.
“Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2” also features Mouni Roy, Tushar Kapoor, Sophie Choudry, and Anu Malik.
