AR Rahman meet Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón
Legendary Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron was in Chennai on a surprise visit. He met
with some of Indian cinema’s most celebrated figures in a meeting hosted by veteran actor Kamal Haasan Mani Ratnam, composer AR Rahman, and actors Siddharth, and Aditi Rao Hydari.
Kamal Haasan shared photos from the meeting with Alfonso Cuarón, a Mexican director winner of three Golden Globes and five Academy Awards.
Cuarón is acknowledged for directing films such as Roma, Gravity and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban among others. He enjoyed his time with Haasan, AR Rahman, Mani Ratnam while in Chennai.
Actor Siddharth and his fiance Aditi Rao Hydari were also present at the meeting.
Over a sumptuous lunch, the guests savoured the flavours of the season, with ripe mangoes and actor Siddharth quipped, “Alfonso meets Banganapalli.” Sharing multiple pictures from their meet-up, Haasan wrote in the caption, “Met Alfonso Cuarón my brethren and an offspring from the same mother ‘cinema’. We spoke cinema, cinema and more cinema.”
He continued, that he shared his joy over lunch along with the seasons mangoes and some of his fraternity Maniratnam, A.R.Rahman, Ravi K Chandran, Mahendran, Narayanan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth and Amritha. ‘Alfonso meets Banganapalli,’ quipped Mr Siddharth went on to quip

Cinematographer Ravi K Chandran also shared pictures and wrote, “Thanks kamalhaasan for this great opportunity to meet & have an insightful fun conversation with this Oscar winner.. director/cinematographer The maestro alfonsocuaron blessed.
Kamal Haasan was last seen in the 2022 movie Vikram.
His next project is the
S Shankar’s directorial Indian 2, the sequel to his 1996 hit Indian, where he played Veerasekaran Senapathy.
Indian 2 set to hit theatres in June 2024 features Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh and Kajal Aggarwal.
