Deepika Padukone’s ‘Lady Singham’ look from “Singham Again” out
Renowned filmmaker Rohit Shetty introduced Deepika Padukone as Lady Singham and shared a still of Deepika from the film and affectionately called her his ‘hero’. Notwithstanding expecting her first child, Deepika appeared in the still dressed as a cop.
Deepika marks Rohit Shetty’s first female cop in his cop universe. After revealing her initial look as Shakti Shetty in October 2023, Shetty teased fans with a sneak peek of Deepika dressed as a cop in a new still from the film, where she even recreated the iconic ‘Singham’ hook step.
Sharing the image, Rohit wrote, “My hero, both on screen and off screen, Lady Singham!!! deepika padukone.”
Deepika portrays ‘Lady Singham’ in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe directorial ‘Singham Again.’ Her character was first introduced last year. Rohit’s caption for the character read, “In women, there is the form of Sita and also of Durga.
Meet the most brutal and violent officer of our cop universe, Shakti Shetty, my Lady Singham, Deepika Padukone.”
Rohit Shetty in December 2022 first confirmed Deepika Padukone’s role as Lady Singham in his first female-centric copverse. At the song launch of ‘Current Laga Re,’ Deepika gave a glimpse of her ‘tashan wali walk’ (attitude-filled walk) as Lady Singham.
In the midst of the ‘Cirkus’ event, Rohit Shetty discussed Deepika Padukone’s role as Lady Singham, stating, “Somewhere or the other, the truth will come out. The next film is ‘Singham’ from our cop universe. Every time he is asked ‘When will Lady Singham come?’ So, ‘Singham Again’ has a Lady Singh (pointing towards Deepika Padukone). She is his lady cop from the cop universe.
‘Singham Again’ boasts an ensemble star cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh.
