The year 1990’s saw many actors embarking on their acting career. Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar, Sonali Bendre, Tabu, and Shilpa Shetty are some of the leading names who still rule the hearts of millions.
Even as many actors made an indelible mark in the industry, some left their careers midway to settle down. Namrata Shirodkar to Mamta Kulkarni, several actors from the 90s disappeared from the silver screen, leaving their flourishing careers behind. One of them is Farheen Khan Prabhakar.
Farheen, recognised as Bindiya in the South Indian film industry, worked in Hindi Kannada, and Tamil cinema. Although she worked with many leading actors, she left her career within a short span of time.
Farheen Khan made her acting debut in 1992 with the film, Jaan Tere Naam and became a popular name overnight. Her striking resemblance to Madhuri Dixit got her a huge fan following. After her debut film, Farheen gained popularity and became ‘Madhuri Dixit’s No.2’ in the media.
Farheen worked with many leading heroes of the 90s, like Akshay Kumar in Dil Ki Baazi, Sainik, and Nazar Ke Samne, Jeetendra in Tahqiqaat, Govinda in Jaan Se Pyaara, and many others. Not just in Bollywood, Farheen also gained popularity with her stint in South Indian films and made her debut with a Kannada film, Halli Meshtru.
After five years and 17 films, Farheen bid adieu to acting and wed former Indian cricketer, Manoj Prabhakar. She was at the peak of her career when she decided to leave the glamour world to devote her time to her husband and kids.
Farheen was born into a broken family and wanted to lead a happy married life, and because of this reason, the actress quit her career and spent her entire time catering to the needs of her family. Over an interview she opened up.
She had never thought of settling down so soon but it just happened and after that, it was her family that was more important to her and later her children.

Whom she had met at a gym in 1993, which she visited regularly. Manoj, on the other hand, came there for treatment. He was already married and had a son at that time, but the cricketer was facing certain issues in his marriage.
After the frequent meetings, Farheen and Manoj fell for each other and got married. Farheen revealed that at a young age, she decided to get married to a Hindu since she was a Muslim and had seen her father get married thrice.
As it left a deep impact on Farheen’s mind, she was certain that she would only get married to a Hindu man. After her marriage with Manoj, Farheen settled in Delhi with her husband and their two children, Raahil and Manavansh. Prakash’s eldest son, Rohan, from his first wife also lives with Farheen.
Now Farheen Khan gears up to return to the a acting arena after 24 years. Currently she is on a shoot shooting for a few projects and is quite thrilled about her second innings. In
Her husband and family are happy that she has resumed acting again. Her children are grown up now, elder one is 24 and also doing a project for Lionsgate. Her younger one is doing a course abroad. It’s good to be busy at this age.
Farheen Khan made an impact in the industry within a short career span. The actress is all geared up for her second innings with some character-driven roles.
