Afore the Bakri Eid on Monday 17 June, the Uttar Pradesh
CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered a ban on offering Namaz on streets and animal sacrifice at undesignated places.
He also said that action will be initiated against anyone found slaughtering animals forbidden to be offered in sacrificial rituals.

The UP CM further quoted that the spot for sacrifice on Bakrid should be marked in advance and that no sacrifice at other spots. The sacrifice should not be made at disputed or sensitive places. Officials need to ensure that banned animals are not sacrificed. A systematic action plan for the disposal of waste after sacrifice should be launched in all districts.

CM Yogi Adityanath also instructed administration officials and the police to prevent any untoward incident that could hurt religious sentiments.

Yogi Adityanath asked the police to be alert and maintain a strong grip on the law & order in the state amidst the upcoming festive month. While Hindus will celebrate Ganga Dussehra on June 16, Muslims will celebrate Bakri Eid on June 17. Later, Hindu devotees will embark on the Kanwar Yatra on July 22.

Yogi Adityanath further said that the facilities for devotees must be kept ready. He also reviewed the preparations for the festivals and pointed that the ‘Bada Mangal’ festival will be celebrated on June 18 followed by the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21. Events like Muharram (July 17) and Kanwar Yatra will follow in July. This period is very sensitive from the point of view of law and order. The government and administration need to be in active mode 24×7.
