After Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Jawan’ Atlee directs Salman Khan
Initially Atlee was prima facie to direct Allu Arjun’s next, but, since that did not work out, the Jawan director has now locked horns with Salman Khan.
After collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan, director Atlee is set to join forces with another Bollywood superstar for his next film.
As per media reports, since Atlee did not get Arjun’s approval, opted for Salman Khan, who appreciated it. It is also reported that Atlee’s substantial paycheck was a concern for Geetha Arts, owned by Allu Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind.
Currently, Atlee is busy on a script, and the film will be announced soon under the banner of Sun Pictures. Atlee plans to kick-start shoot early next year, as Salman as of now is busy withA.R. Murugadoss’s directorial ‘Sikandar’, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, known for the Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Ghajini’.
In the interim, Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ stands postponed to a Diwali 2024 release due to some remaining VFX patchwork. With ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ shifting its release date, many Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films have now booked the August 15 release slot.
Sources close to the team of Pushpa 2 confirms that the film will not release on August 15, 2024. It’s for a while now that the discussions over delay in Pushpa has been going as the makers were always racing against time to wrap up the shoot and lock their edit for Independence Day 2024 weekend. It was on Monday 17 June, that they eventually decided to delay the release date. An official announcement on the new date is expected to be made in a day or two.
The source further added that the Allu Arjun, Sukumar, and Mythri are now considering to bring their actioner in the month of December. “Pushpa 2 team is in consideration on several date options – which includes Dussehra 2024, December 2024, and Pongal 2025.
But, the way things are moving, it seems that Pushpa 2 will arrive in the month of Decembe. For those unaware, Pushpa: The Rise released on December 17, 2021, and the timelines for the sequel are also similar.
