The mania for “indian 2” clocks in Washington’s Mount Adams
Reportedly, Tollywood’s next biggie is Shankar’s directorial Kamal Haasan starrer “Indian 2” all set for its theatrical release on July 12. The promotions are afoot and both Kamal and Shankar are into round the clock promotions.
The makers of the film released a video of a few trekkers who have scaled Mount Adams in the American capital to showcase the poster of Indian 2, with a caption that reads, ‘Come Back Indian.’ The sequel to the 1996 film Indian is Shankar’s directorial with Kamal Haasan portraying the role as as Senapathy, the freedom fighter turned vigilante who battles against corruption.
The ensemble cast of Indian 2 besides Kamal comprises Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal,
SJ Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, and Samuthirakani, among others.
In the midst of the earlier press conference for the Indian sequel, Shankar even revealed that the film contains an animated version of RK Laxman’s cartoon character, The Common Man.
Subaskaran produces the film under the banner of Lyca Productions which releases in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. There is also a third segment to the franchise, which is in the post-production phase.
