Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC),show has also been
consequential.
Ever since KBC saw the light of day in 2000, the show has entranced over millions of viewers across the nation, with the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan at the driver’s seat as the ring master.
Indisputably, his magnetism
knowledge, and alluring personality has made the show a collosal success. But what has also changed markedly over time is the fees he charges as a ring master for this popular quiz show.
When KBC first aired in 2000,
Amitabh was paid approximately Rs 25 lakh per episode. At that time around it was a substantial amount.
Notedly, the success of the show cemented his presence on television but also set a new touchstone for television show hosting fees in India.
His popularity soared, and so did his fees. At the fourth season remuneration increased to Rs 50 lakh per episode.
Interestingly, as the show started gaining popularity and continued KBC’s viewership too grew, and so the expectations from its ring master.
Thereafter between the eight and 16th season, his fee raked up to Rs.5 crore per episode.
His collaboration with KBC has emerged iconic, and his fees reflect his unparalleled status in the industry.
