Abhishek distances from wishing Aishwarya for ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1 National Award
Mani Ratnam’s ‘Masterstroke’ ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’ clinched four National Award at the 70th ceremony including Best Tamil Film. However, Abhishek Bachchan distanced from wishing wife Aishwarya Rai
amid their divorce rumours.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who essayed the role of Nandini in the period drama film also won immense appreciation for her performance.
Taking to his X (twitter) Abhishek shared a morphed image which seemed like a fan-made poster of the film on his and further congratulated the team on the day of release. Not just that, the actor also misspelled the name of his wife in the hashtags inside the tweet.
While the tweet was deleted and replaced by another one, which was the original poster of the film, the name of Aishwarya continued to remain misspelled in his current post as well. The caption read, “The day is finally here! PS 1 in theatres today, congratulations to the team who’ve put in years of hard work & excellence in making this masterpiece. Best wishes on the release!
The film featured besides Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, and Vikram Prabhu in significant roles
PS 1 was one of the much-anticipated film.
The first part of the Mani Ratnam’s period drama directorial Ponniyin Selvan is a fictionalised story based on the early days of Rajaraja I, the Chola emperor. Part two came out in 2023.
