Raveena Tandon shot Mohra’s ‘Tip Tip Barsa’ song in freezing water and bleeding knees
Raveena Tandon recalls that she shot the song ‘Tip Tip Barsa’ for film “Mohra”in freezing water and bleeding knees. She even developed fever and rusted nail pierced her foot
The chartbuster track was picturised on Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon and interestingly is still talked about for its melody and sensuality, with her saree in the song turning out to be a pop culture reference point.
The iconic track featuring Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon had sizzling chemistry amid the two. The track was rendered by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan.
The actress further added that when Mohra had released,
“Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast” was a bigger hit but a lot of hard work and blood went into making “Tip Tip Barsa Paani”.
Those days for the rain song, the makers never provided geyser-heated water, but, we were provided with freezing cold water from the tanker. The song shoot was on a construction site and because she was wearing a saree, couldn’t wear knee pads, heels because there were stones and nails. If you notice her entry, she is sliding on her knees! She had bleeding knees, ankles and had to take a tetanus shot because a rusted nail pierced through her foot.
The actor said if one views the song—without the context of the pain that went behind filming it—it might look “glamorous” but added that “nothing” was happening there. Amidst Mohra, Akshay and Raveena were a hit pair, who eventually went on to date each other. The former couple also had an engagement.
In the midst of her earlier interview with news agency Raveena was asked about the Akshay Kumar chapter and her engagement, to which she said she had “forgotten” about. The actor had said, they were a hit pair, amidst Mohra, and even now, when they bump into each other socially, they all meet and chat. Everyone moves on. Girls have been changing their boyfriends every week in colleges, but one engagement that has broken is still stuck to her head, and she doesn’t know why. Everyone moves on, people have divorces, they move on, what’s the big deal?”
Raveena and Akshay will be seen together in the comedy Welcome to the Jungle, anticipated for early 2025 theatrical release.
