Amitabh Bachchan recalls ‘almost fainted’ after Michael Jackson knocked at his door
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan recently recounted he almost fainted after Michael Jackson knocked at his door in a New York hotel. The Legend who has staged a comeback to host Kaun Banega Crorepati season 16, revealed this story to Padma Shree awardees Dr Abhay and Dr Rani Bang, who will be seen taking the hot seat on the latest episode of the actor’s quiz show.
In the midst of the show, Amitabh asked Dr Rani Bang on her favourite singer and on learning Dr Rani is fond of late pop singer Michael Jackson, the Senior Bachchan recalled an interesting encounter with the pop sensation.
As per Amitabh, he was staying at a hotel in New York when, one day, he heard a knock at his door. When he opened it, he was stunned to see Michael Jackson standing outside.
He almost fainted but managed to keep his composure and greeted him, and he inquired if this was his room. When he confirmed it, he realized he had mistakenly come to the wrong room.
He further added, that later when he went to his own room, he sent someone to connect with the person whose room he had accidentally entered. Eventually, we had the chance to sit down and talk. Despite his enormous fame, he was incredibly humble. That’s how they. first met.
Recalling another encounter, Amitabh Bachchan said, ” Michael Jackson had a show in America, and it was a struggle to get from New York to the venue. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told there were no rooms available. We requested them, but they said that all 350 rooms were booked for Michael Jackson and his team. After multiple efforts, they managed to get seats at the back of the stadium, and we were able to watch his performance. He was an extraordinary artistE; his singing and dancing were phenomenal. The energy in the arena was electrifying, with thunderous applause and a truly magical atmosphere.”
The special episode will be aired on September 13 on Sony Entertainment Television at 9 pm.
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan was recently seen in Prabhas-starrer sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD. He will soon be seen in the Rajinikanth-starrer Vettaiyan.
