Meet Veteran Raaj Kumar’s son Puru
Raaj Kumar; quit acting
Puru couldn’t make it as a successful actor like his father Raaj Kumar, the most professional actor in the Indian Film Industry.
Puru had worked with Karisma Kapoor
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but, ironically never gave a hit.
His entry into Bollywood was marked by dedication and a desire to follow in his father’s footsteps, but things went wrong with him.
Coming to Raaj Kumar, he was one of the greatest actor in the Hindi film industry and was acknowledged for his unique dialogue delivery, dynamic screen presence, and a memorable performances.
His deep voice and powerful roles in films like Pakeezah, Waqt, Neel Kamal, and Heer Ranjha made him a favorite among audiences.
He was celebrated for playing characters that commanded authority, often with an undercurrent of mystery or gravitas.
Notwithstanding the advantages of being born into a well-known film family and having a promising launch, Puru couldn’t make it despite having struggled to carve out a niche for himself, perhaps due to the overwhelming expectations tied to his father’s legendary status and the changing dynamics of Bollywood during that era. His subsequent roles did not garner the same recognition or success, and he faded into the background compared to many of his contemporaries.
Puru had multiple film offers, but Raaj Kumar, known for his perfectionism and high standards, advised his son to refine his skills before stepping into the limelight. This advice reflected Kumar’s commitment to ensuring Puru was prepared to face the challenging world of cinema.
Although Puru’s debut didn’t turn him into a major star, he went on to work in various films across different genres and roles. His filmography includes projects like Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai with Aishwarya Rai, Mission Kashmir, and LOC Kargil, where he took on negative, supporting, and sometimes lead roles. His work in films like Dev and Veer showed his versatility, though he never achieved the same level of stardom as his father.
In face of his efforts and appearances in big-budget and multi-starrer films, Puru’s career never really soared. He was often overshadowed by newer talents. He left acting and people also forgot him. As of now, there’s no update about him.
