On the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of Indian Film Industry’s evergreen actor and debonair Dev Anand, actress-politician ‘Dream Girl’ Hema Malini took out some srored gems from the archives and shared
throwback photos on Instagram featuring photos from the sets of films, where she and Dev Anand collaborated on.

In the captions, Hema expressed her admiration for the legendary actor, adding that she missed his “warm presence.”

She went on to add that she has such lovely memories of Dev Saab who was in fact the hero of her 2nd big release with a top actor.

She was raw, and in awe but quickly he put her at ease and behaved as if he was a good friend. The actor continued his attitude till the end always exuding energy that would stimulate everyone,” the veteran actress wrote.

She continued, that she couldn’t never feel low or sad when he was around. His calling her “Hema!” still reverberates in her ears. As she truly loved him for the extraordinary person that he was and miss his warm presence even today.

Hema Malini’s post garnered a range of reactions from fans and Bollywood stars. Actor Jackie Shroff wrote, “Respects.”

She wrote that elated to have been treated to the precious throwback photos, a fan wrote, “We love those movies where both of you share such great chemistry.” One of them remarked, “Ma’am, you are so beautiful… No one can match your aura to this day. Stay blessed always.”

Hema Malini shared screen space with Dev Anand in films like Johny Mera Naam, Amir Garib, Joshila and Shareef.

In his career spanning over six decades, Dev Anand featured in several memorable films including Guide, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, and Taxi Driver. His films were often acknowledged for their charismatic charm and unconventional storytelling.

Celebrating Dev Anand’s legacy, the Film Heritage Foundation hosted a special film festival last year in collaboration with NFDC-NFAI in 2023. The film festival was titled Dev Anand@100 – Forever Young. Amidst the event, four of the actor’s iconic films – CID, Guide, Jewel Thief and Johny Mera Naam were screened.
