Undoubtedly, Mithun Chakraborty and Hema Malini are two symbolic figures in Indian cinema, acknowledged their noteworthy performances in films like ‘Aandhi Toofan’ and ‘Taqdeer’. Their on-screen chemistry has left an indelible on audiences, showcasing their versatility and charisma.

Mithun is to be honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony on October 8, 2024. This award is India’s highest recognition in the film industry, celebrating his extensive contributions over a career spanning more than four decades. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced this accolade on social media, highlighting Chakraborty’s remarkable cinematic journey that has inspired generations. Fans and many celebs have showered love on the ‘Disco Dancer’ actor for this recognition.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter), she articulated that she feels happy to hear that the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award this year has been conferred on Mithun Chakraborty. Mithun has made an indelible mark on the film industry with his action films and his dancing prowess and fully deserves this recognition.

Congratulations and all Best wishes to this wonderful human being with whom she had shared screen space as well. With the message was a cherished photograph of the two actors together.

He described it as a life-altering moment, stating, he said that “It feels as though God has finally evaluated all these years, decades of his struggle.

Mithun also mentioned that plans are afoot for a personal ritual to undertake a visit to a dilapidated temple on the way to Nimtalla burning ghat to seek blessings from an ascetic he refers to as Bhole baba. When asked on his celebration plans, he commented that he has no plans to celebrate as such. For Mithun, ‘work’ is his celebration.

Mithun’s journey in cinema kicked-off with his debut in ‘Mrigayaa’ which won for him his first National Film Award for Best Actor.

Over the years, he has collected three National Awards and featured in films that span various genres from art to commercial blockbusters.
