Aishwarya Rai honoured for Ponniyin Selvan 2 at IIFA 2024 event touches Nandamuri Balakrishna’s feet
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was honoured with the Best Actress Award at IIFA 2024 event in Abu Dhabi for her exceptional performance in
Ponniyin Selvan 2.

Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna she touched his feet as a mark of respect with the Best Actress Award at a recent award function in Abu Dhabi for her outstanding performance in Ponniyin Selvan Ponniyin Selvan 2. The Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna presented the award to Aishwarya, who played a double role in the film.
In a soul-stirring moment, Aishwarya walked up to the stage to accept the award, but before doing so, she touched Balakrishna’s feet as a sign of respect. The Telugu star blessed her and handed over the trophy.
Aishwarya also presented the Best Director award to Mani Ratnam, who directed Ponniyin Selvan 2. She was visibly excited while making the announcement and again touched his feet also when he stepped on stage.
In her address to the media, the actress revealed the bond she shared her with Mani Ratnam. Later, she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to play Nandini in Ponniyin Selvan and reflected on their long association, dating back to her 1997 debut in his film Iruvar.
Aishwarya also attended the event with her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan and headlined with her stunning appearance and witty responses.
When a female reporter asked her about motherhood, she said, “You are a mother, you know best. We are all human beings, and there’s no rule book we are born with. So you are incredible, you do you.” When a reporter mentioned that Aaradhya is always by her side, Aishwarya responded with a laugh, saying, “Whoa! She’s my daughter, she’s always with me.”
Just days before, Aishwarya stole the limelight at Paris Fashion Week 2024, walking the ramp for Mossi in a stunning red outfit. She was also spotted wearing her wedding ring, which debunked the rumours of trouble in her marriage with Abhishek Bachchan.
