It comes as an incredible news that ahead of the 97th Academy Awards in March 2025, and after Laapataa Ladies was officially confirmed for the Oscars, now it is the Hindi film ‘Santosh” helmed by a British-Indian Filmmaker Sandhya Suri.This has generated a different kind of excitement among Indians.

Santosh features Shahana Goswami in the lead who takes over her husband’s position in the police department after his sudden death. She is then assigned to resolve the case of a girl’s murder and the rest of the film deals with if she can do the same.
Notedly, the film has already premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and expected to accomplish something bigger at the upcoming Oscars. It also includes Sunita Rajwar playing one of the leads.
