Jeetendra shared passionate bond with Rekha
It’s a known fact in the industry, that Rekha and Jeetendra emerged superstars in their own right. But, it was their sizzling on-screen chemistry that truly mesmerised audiences and played a major role in the success of their films together.
However, not many know that Rekha and Jeetendra share a passionate bond
off-screen too! Rekha affectionately calls Jeetendra “Ravya” (a playful twist on his real name, Ravi Kapoor) and Jeetendra considers her a “true friend” who always goes the extra mile for others.
On her 70th birthday this year, Jeetendra took a stroll down memory lane and fondly recalled a time when she stepped up to help him when he was faced with an income tax issue.
Amidst a fun chat with Jeetendra revealed that when his chartered accountant found a problem, he mentioned that the officer in charge was a huge fan of Rekha and would be excited to meet her. When Jeetendra called Rekha and explained the situation, she quickly agreed to help!
She went out of her way to be cordial with the officer. What’s more she even served him snacks with her own hands. The fan boy was floored and his tax problems were all sorted. Unless it’s a true friend nobody does it.There have been many instances where she’s just been there rock solid. He even went on to add, “Rekha is his jaan (beloved) and an “yaaron ka yaar.”
Some of the duo’s memorable films together include Ek Bechara, Anokhi Ada, Suntan, Karmayogi Judaai, Jal Mahal Maang Bharo Sajana Mehndi Rang Layegi Mera Pati Sirf Mera Hai and Sheshnaag (1990).
Rekha is known for her versatile roles and has often been in the spotlight for her career and personal life. Her impressive acting, along with her charming looks and graceful dance skills, has won over audiences. All through her her career, she has shared screen space with many top actors and has been romantically linked to a few, including Amitabh Bachchan and Jeetendra himself.
