Ameesha Patel shares anecdote on not working with Shah Rukh Khan

Ameesha Patel recently shared an anecdote about missing out on a major opportunity of sharing the screen space with Shah Rukh Khan.

Ameesha Patel is acknowledged for her significant roles in Hindi films. Recently she shared an anecdote over losing an opportunity to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan.After she rose to fame following the blockbuster success of the Rakesh Roshan directorial “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai”, opposite Hrithik Roshan and the huge success of Gadar with Sunny Deol, Ameesha faced a mix of highs and lows in her film career. One significant regret was her “rejecting” to feature in Chalte Chalte, a film that later turned out to be a classic.

In a conversation with a channel, Ameesha revealed that her secretary failed to inform her about the offer for Chalte Chalte, leading her to unknowingly decline the role.
When the film was about to release and Shah Rukh was dubbing for it, he took her into the dubbing studio and showed her a few edits. He said, ‘Come, I will show you edits of the film that you declined.’ She replied, ‘Shah Rukh, what has she declined?’ and he said, ‘This.’” The film eventually featured Rani Mukerji in the lead role.

While she may have missed out on that opportunity, Ameesha made a notable comeback in 2023 with Gadar 2, which, notwithstanding mixed reviews, grossed an impressive Rs 686 crore at the box office, proving that her star power remains undeniable.
