There was a time when Vinod Khanna was a super star and above Amitabh Bachchan Rajesh Khanna and Mithun Chakraborty.

One of the most famous sequences in the film was the song ‘Aaj Phir Tum Pe Pyaar Aaya Hai’ and in that Vinod Khanna had to kiss Madhuri. As per reports, amidst the lovemaking scene, Vinod Khanna did not stop kissing and left her lip so bad that she was bleeding and in shock. People on the sets recalled that the young actress, who was yet to make big in Bollywood, couldn’t stop herself from crying. Later, director Feroz Khan and actor Vinod Khanna apologised to Madhuri and also paid a hefty amount for doing the kissing scene.

After the release of the. film, a legal notice was sent to the filmmaker to remove Madhuri Dixit’s kissing scene with the actor, but he refused to do so.

Also, when Madhuri requested to remove her kissing scene with Vinod Khanna, he silenced her by paying Rs 1 crore.

After that, Vinod Khanna and Madhuri never worked together in any film. Even though, Dayavan was a big success, but the two never came together on-screen. Vinod Khanna’s career started to witness the downfall after the early 90s. During that time, Madhuri’s stardom was on another level with films like Tezaab, Dil, Beta, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. She became the highest-paid actress during the 90s. Madhuri was one of the top Bollywood stars until she took break after her marriage in 2001.
