Sanjeev Kumar (born Harihar Jethalal Jariwala) was an actor par Excellence. He transcended Bollywood’s silver screen from the 1960s to the 1980s. He embarked into acting career in theater before transitioning to films. He made his Bollywood debut with “Hum Hindustani” and went on to appear in over 200 films, highlighting his incredible versatility.

“Sholay” “Anamika”
“Arjun Pandit” “Kala Patthar
“Trishul” “Devata”
He is the proud recepient of numerous accolades, including:
National Film Award for Best Actor (1976, 1985)
Filmfare Award for Best Actor (1976, 1985)
Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor (1973, 1975) His remarkable performances earned him a permanent place in Bollywood’s history. He breathed his last on November 6, 1985, due to a heart attack, leaving behind an enduring legacy.

Sanjeev Kumar remained a bachelor throughout his life, dedicating himself to his craft. His brothers, Kishore Jariwala and Bhupendra Jariwala, were also involved in the film industry.
His contributions to Indian cinema continue to inspire generations of actors and filmmakers. His iconic roles and memorable performances remain etched in the hearts of film enthusiasts worldwide. He isn’t in our midst but his performance his dialogue delivery and songs jeep haunting.
