Delhi shivers to 4.9 deg Celsius on Wednesday
Delhi shivers to coldest morning of season to 4.9 degree Celsius on Wednesday 11 December.
As per IMD, the city is experiencing smog and mist conditions, with surface winds primarily coming from the northwest at eight to ten kilometers per hour, causing the temperature to drop.
Palam and Safdarjung areas were covered under a thin layer of fog on as the morning chill remained till around 9 am.
Meanwhile the air quality of New Delhi remained in the ‘poor’ category as per the reports by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Early at 7 am, the air quality index (AQI) was measured at 209. Areas like Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 218, Ashok Vihar recorded 227 while Dwarka measured 250 and 218 was measured at IGI airport. However, some areas recorded moderate air quality including areas like Aya Nagar recorded an AQI of 148, 187 at Burari Crossing, 181 at Chandni Chowk, and 165 at DTU, as per CPCB data.
