The city’s ever-popular vada pav to the mouthwatering pav bhaji, draws food lovers from around the globe and beats numerous global destinations, trailing four Italian cities: Naples, Milan, Bologna, and Florence.
Notably,.Mumbai surpasses culinary heavyweights like Rome, Paris, and Osaka, securing its position just behind Italy’s Naples, Milan, Bologna, and Florence.
Reportedly, Taste Atlas’ rankings were based on an impressive 477,287 food ratings, evaluating the best regional and national dishes globally.
From the carb-loaded delight of Vada Pav to the buttery bliss of Pav Bhaji, Mumbai’s street food has been spotlighted as a must-try experience. Other local favourites like Ragda Pattice, Dabeli, Bhel Puri, and Bombay Sandwich continue to define the city’s culinary identity. Iconic eateries like Ram Ashraya, Shree Thaker Bhojanalay, and Cafe Madras were also commended for their authenticity.
Additionally, Indian cuisine has also secured the 12th spot in Taste Atlas’s prestigious list of the “100 Best Cuisines in the World”, 2024-25.
