The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) on Wednesday unveiled its shortlist of films (10 categories) still in the running for the Oscars 2025.
Notedly, the film which beat out Payal Kapadia’s ‘All We Imagine As Light’ to be selected as India’s entry, sadly didn’t make the cut. However, another Hindi language film titled ‘Santosh’ found a spot in the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category
Sadly for India, Aamir and Kiran Rao, her directorial Laapataa Ladies which was the official entry to Best Foreign Language film Category was out of the race.
Infact, both Aamir and Kiran did a lot of campaign and were sure of the Oscars for the film.
Sandhya Suri directorial “Santosh” has found a spot in the Best International Film Category. Infact Santosh was UK’s official submission to the Academy Awards.
