Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli encountered yet another health scare, as he got admitted to Thane’s Akriti Hospital after his health deteriorated on Saturday, December 21 night. While reports reveal he is as of now, stable, yet remains in critical condition.

Recently Kambli made a rare public appearance at the unveiling of Ramakant Achrekar’s statue at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.

It is learned that Kambli underwent a CT scan and other tests at Akriti Hospital in Thane and told the doctor he was suffering from urine issues and had recently come out of rehab.

According to hospital reports, Kambli is reportedly out of danger now, but still continues to get treatment.

After Vinod Kambli’s recent health issues came to light during an event earlier this month, members of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning team extended their support. Even the former Indian captains Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar both offered their help but put a condition in front of Kambli, as the former batter would have to undergo rehabilitation to receive their support.

Meanwhile, Kambli has shared details about his ongoing health struggles. The former Indian batter revealed that he had been dealing with a severe urinary problem, which caused him significant distress.

Last month, Kambli’s condition worsened, leading to him collapsing.
Kambli’s son, Jesus Cristiano, was there to support him, along with his wife and daughter. He was later advised by doctors to be hospitalized for treatment. Kambli also mentioned that he had two heart surgeries in 2013, amidst which Sachin Tendulkar provided him with financial help.

Vinod Kambli said in an interaction that he was suffering from a urine problem. It was just flowing. His son, Jesus Cristiano, picked him up and brought him back to his feet. His daughter, who is 10 years old, and wife came to help him. This happened one month ago. His head started spinning, he collapsed and fell down. The doctor told him to get admitted.
Kambli further said amidst the interaction, he is ready to go for rehab because he doesn’t fear anything as his family is with him. Ajay Jadeja visited him at the hospital and said Come on, get up.’ A lot of people have called him lately. Everyone saw him..Definitely, BCCI will help. Abey Kuruvilla is with BCCI; he is in touch with him and he is also in touch with his wife.”

Notably, Kambli played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India amidst his career spanning nine years. He scored four centuries in Test cricket, including two double centuries. Kambli was the first Indian to achieve back-to-back double centuries in Test cricket.
