Ayushmann will also appear in an untitled spy thriller with Sara and the horror-comedy Thama with Rashmika Mandanna
Sooraj Barjatya is said to be working on a new film featuring Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role. The family movie is in progress as reported and Sara Ali Khan and Triptii Dimri are being considered for the female lead, but nothing is confirmed yet. Look tests for the actresses will happen in January 2025.
A recent media report reveals from Mĺlĺlthat Sara and Triptii are being considered for the female lead in Barjatya’s new film with Ayushmann. Sara is seen as a good fit for the Rajshri universe because of her charm, while Triptii’s performances in ‘Bulbbul’ and ‘Qala’ show she can add depth to her character. Ayushmann and Sara are also working together on an untitled spy comedy directed by Aakash Kaushik. The report mentions that Barjatya will meet both actresses in January for a look test, and their chemistry with Ayushmann will be important for the final casting decision.
Sooraj Barjatya’s last film as a director was ‘Uunchai’, which follows three elderly friends as they go on a trek to the Everest Base Camp to honor their late friend’s wish. The movie features a talented cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta, and Sarika. Released on November 11, 2022, ‘Uunchai’ focuses on friendship and the challenges faced by older people during their adventure.
On the work front, Ayushmann Khurrana has several films lined up for the future. He will star in an untitled spy thriller alongside Sara Ali Khan. Additionally, he is set to appear in ‘Thama’, a horror-comedy featuring Rashmika Mandanna, which is scheduled for release on Diwali 2025.
