In 2005, amidst the 50th Filmfare Awards Nite, Hindi Cinema’s only super star Rajesh Khanna’s contributions to films were recognized with the honouring of the Super Star with Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award.

The date 29, December, 2024, marked the birth anniversary of Rajesh Khanna, the legendary actor.

The renowned first superstar of Indian cinema, Rajesh Khanna’s illustrious career spanned over four decades, in the midst of which he enthralled the audiences with his incredible performances in numerous Hindi films. His unmatched charisma and acting prowess won for him a special place in the hearts of millions.

Throughout his career, Rajesh Khanna received several accolades, notably at the Filmfare Awards. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor three times: for Sachaa Jhutha (1971), Anand (1972), and Avishkaar (1975). He was honoured with a Filmfare Special Award in 1973 for Anuraag and another in 1991, commemorating his 25 years in the Hindi film industry.

But, it was in 2005, that his contributions were further recognized with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award amidst he 50th Filmfare Awards ceremony.
