Director Indra Kumar recalls Madhuri Dixit tagged as ‘Jinxed Girl’ 
Director Indra Kumar shared that after Madhuri Dixit’s back-to-back unsuccessful movies, filmmakers were not trying in casting her in films.
Indisputably Madhuri Dixit is B’town’s true “Diva’ as she is acknowledged for hit movies like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Dil To Pagal Hai, Dil and many more. However, her initial years in the industry were not commercially successful as her movies flopped back to back.
In a recent interview,filmmaker Indra Kumar recalled that in late 80’s Madhuri was known as a “jinxed girl” .
In conversation with the media persons Indra Kumar shared that after Madhuri Dixit gave back-to-back unsuccessful movies, filmmakers were not taking the risk of entering into a deal with her in the films.
At that time around, Aamir only had one hit film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, while not even a single film featuring Madhuri had worked. She was called ‘jinxed’. When he (Indra Kumar) signed her up for Dil with Aamir Khan, it was still fine, but when he signed her for Beta too, everyone said,
None of her films are successful. You have gone crazy.
Adding that regardless being called “jinxed” he went ahead with the decision to cast Madhuri in both his movies Dil and Beta.
He was confident as he had a gut feeling Madhuri Dixit had something in her.
However, Notwithstanding receiving immense success, the actress remained down to earth. That’s the charisma of Madhuri Dixit.
