Off late, there has been an increasing menace of cybercrimes targeting individuals, especially public figures. Celebrities too are not spared.
The latest victim is actress Nidhhi Agerwal
acknowledged for her performance in popular films like iSmart Shankar. The actress has filed a cybercrime complaint after receiving alarming online death threats. As per the actress, an individual had sent her disturbing messages, including death threats against her and her family. This harassment has significantly impacted her mental well-being, prompting her to seek legal intervention.
Nidhhi disclosed that the anonymous perpetrator had issued violent threats, leading to severe distress for both her and her loved ones. She stated in her complaint that these messages have caused immense stress, and urged authorities to take swift legal action.” The cybercrime police have confirmed receipt of her report and have begun investigating the case.
A similar case involved Malayalam actress Honey Rose, who recently reported online stalking and sexual harassment. The police arrested businessman Baby Chemmaur in connection with her case.
