Actor Mirza Abbas Ali faces failure at peak of his career
Actor Mirza Abbas Ali who once shared screen with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, faced failure at the peak of his career
He was once a dominant actor in the South Indian film industry.
Notedly, the actor gave established names a run for their money, and even had some of the biggest Bollywood movies lined up for him.
However, when he was at the peak of his career when everything appeared to be falling in the right place, his career took a major hit from which he could never recover. He even left the country and did odd jobs to survive.
Mirza Abbas Ali started his career as a model in 1994 while he was still in college. In a very short period, in 1996, he debuted with the Tamil film âKadhal Desam.â The movie fetched him both critical and commercial success.
He rose to fame instantly and was bombarded with offers. He worked in both Telugu and Tamil industry. âPriya O Priya,â âRaja,â and âRajahamsaâ were a few big project names from Telugu in which he starrer and in Tamil he did âKannezhuthi Pottum Thottu,â âPadayappa,â and âSuyamvaram.â All of these were huge box-office successes.
He also played a small role in Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan starrer âHey Ram,â after which he got his biggest break with âKandukondain Kandukondain.â He starred opposite Aishwarya Rai, in the romantic drama, which also starred Mammootty, Ajith Kumar, and Tabu. And the list of his hits didnât end there. He soon got the second lead in âMinnale.â
Then in 2002, he made his Bollywood debut with âAnshâ but here his luck didnât favour him. Gradually, a star who was counted among the most bankable actors of Tamil headed towards a downfall. Around 2006, when he was at the peak of his career, he said no to many South projects to star in Hindi cinema. However, his only two Hindi films – âAnshâ and âAur Phirâ – failed.
