Nikkhil Advani’s directorial Kal Ho Naa Ho hit the theatres last year, drawing fans to relive Shah Rukh Khan Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta’s magic.

Since the film received lot of love from audiences, buzz was doing the rounds over a possibility of a sequel. Nikkhil Advani addressed this in a recent chat with the media.

Amidst his media interaction when asked whom he would recast in Kal Ho Naa Ho, Nikkhil said, but obvious can’t make a new cast when Shah Rukh is there. It doesn’t matter if they still look the same… Shah Rukh Khan embodies…. Not a single person can do it.

The filmmaker clarified that no sequel is in the works for the film and opined that Kal Ho Naa Ho 2 should not be made.
Kal Ho Naa Ho was released on November 28, 2003. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, Jaya Bachchan, Sushma Seth, Reema Lagoo, and many others. It was produced by Yash Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy provided the music.
It has been decades since Kal Ho Naa Ho was originally released.

It was re-released recently on limited screens nationwide. Fans flocked into theatres, even sharing clips and videos of the iconic tracks and scenes from the film.

The cult romantic drama was both critically acclaimed and a box-office hit at the time of its release.

Meanwhile, although fans will not get to see Shah Rukh Khan in the sequel of the film, the actor will soon be seen in King. Shah Rukh Khan will reportedly star as a mafia boss in King and his daughter, Suhana Khan, will play the parallel lead in the film. As per reports, Shah Rukh Khan’s character will be like a mentor to Suhana Khan’s character.
