CM Devendra Fadnavis acclaims Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency:

In the vanguard of the release of her most ambitious film “Emergency” on 17 January, Kangana Ranaut, BJP MP and actress-turned filmmaker, who features in the lead role, and has written and directed the film, organised a special screening of the movie for Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.

After watching the film he was all praise for Kangana and told media that”Emergency” is an important documentation of Indian history, where people’s democratic rights were quashed, the constitution wasn’t adhered to, and lakhs of leaders were shut in jails. Emergency is a good representation of the atrocities committed on the people during those times.” Sharing his appreciation for Kangana’s performance as the late PM Indira Gandhi, Devendra said, he wants to congratulate her for her role. The film is not just about the emergency, but also what happened before… the 1971 war, and in many ways, it is like seeing the late Prime Minister’s life journey. It is a history of India that reminds us of the importance of keeping democracy alive.

Kangana spoke on how his words were morale boosters for team.

Talking to the media after the screening, Kangana said, “This journey has been quite the challenge for her and her team. Today, the CM has watched our film, and he shared words of praise and encouragement. This is a great honour for us.” Reiterating that the film is hitting the screens on January 17, Kangana requested the discerning audience to watch the movie in theatres with their families.
Listing out the merits of Emergency, Kangana Ranaut said, “This is a neat and clean film that doesn’t have any form of vulgarity whatsoever. It is a very dignified film, and she urges all to watch it with families.
With just a week left for the Republic Day, she hopes the film, which respects the power of the constitution, is watched through the week.

Despite ready for a release on September 6, the movie was delayed as it did not receive the censor certificate on time. After multiple delays, Emergency finally had all its decks cleared for a January 17 release. However, even now, it has been banned in Bangladesh due to certain scenes in the movie, which has been deemed as objectionable in nature.

In the Emergency new trailer the film shows ‘murder of democracy’ as Indira Gandhi claims she’s the Cabinet.
With songs by GV Prakash Kumar, and score by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara, Emergency is backed by Kangana’s Manikarnika Films and Zee Studios. Kangana leads an ensemble cast, including actors like Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhary and Satish Kaushik.
