Kartik Aaryan has added yet another feather to his cap. He was honoured with
CNN-News18 Indian of the Year 2024 awards for his exceptional contributions to Indian cinema with Chandu Champion.
The much-anticipated CNN-News18 Indian of the Year 2024 awards event took place in New Delhi on Friday spotlighting on individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the nation and brought immense pride through their achievements.
As one of the most prestigious events in news television, the awards celebrate excellence across seven distinct categories: Entertainment, Business, Sports, Youth Icon, and Climate Warriors.
Notedly, this year, Kartik Aaryan was honored for his exceptional impact and accomplishments in the entertainment industry, recognizing a year that pushed the boundaries of his career with Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion.
In his speech, Kartik Aaryan articulated that he feels immensely happy for the honour done to him and that coincidentally it’s the day when Murlikant Petkar received the Lifetime Arjuna Award at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
It’s unbelievable the kind of magical moments this character, this film has given to all those associated with the film. Their film started with the dialogue that ‘Mujhe Arjuna Award Chahiye’ and today he got the Lifetime Arjuna Award so his life has come to a full circle.”
Markedly, Kartik Aaryan’s 2024 was a standout year, highlighting his versatility and dedication to his craft. He led two blockbuster projects, Chandu Champion and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, both of which established his position as a top-tier actor in Bollywood.
In the Kabir Khan directorial Chandu Champion, a biographical sports drama, Aaryan brought to life the inspiring story of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist.
Released on June 14, 2024, the film received critical acclaim, and Aaryan’s compelling performance earned him the Best Actor award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024 (Movie Talkies).
Later in the year, Anees Bazmee directorial Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, saw Aaryan reprise his exceptional role as Rooh Baba. Released on November 1, 2024, the horror-comedy turned out to be a massive box-office hit, grossing over ₹400 crore worldwide.
Aaryan’s contributions in 2024 were recognized with multiple accolades, including the Actor of the Year award and the Forbes India Icon of Excellence award.
Throwing light on his success, the actor described the year as “incredible,” expressing his gratitude for the support and opportunities he received.
Looking ahead, Aaryan’s lineup for 2025 and beyond promises even greater versatility. He gears up to shoot for ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh 2-, a sequel to the 2019 hit comedy, in December 2024.
Aaryan will also been seen in the slice-of-life romance Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures, slated for a 2026 release.
Notedly Aaryan is set to feature in Sandeep Modi directorial war drama scheduled for
15 August 2025 release ⁸aligning with India’s Independence Day celebrations.
