Director Anurag Basu who shares a close friendship with the actress refuted these claims and in a new chat, opened up about the major reason behind Triptii’s exit.
It was learned that Triptii was removed as the makers felt she had become ‘too exposed’ to be cast in the romantic film; the role demanded ‘purity in demeanour’ from the female lead. It was also rumoured that her bold image in Animal made it hard for her to fit into the Aashiqui world.
Anurag Basu clarified that image was not the issue. That he is the last person to judge an actor on the basis of the other characters they have played on screen. Aashiqui was not even the story anymore. He isn’t aware the source of these stories which came out.
