Renowned Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya recently graced Indian Idol to promote his highly anticipated digital debut, Bada Naam Karenge, premiering on Sony LIV on February 7.

with a fascinating behind-the-scenes story from “Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
After a stunning performance by contestant
Ritika, Sooraj Barjatya took a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
He narrated the story behind Salman Khan sporting that nightie in the song ‘Didi Tera Devar Deewana’saying this was a long and elaborate song that required 16 days of rehearsals and 9 days of filming. He wanted to end it on a high note, with a fun and victorious celebration and he suggested to his father that Salman should wear a nightir for the final scene. While Salman instantly agreed, his father rejected the idea, finding it inappropriate.
But the entire team was so enthusiastic about it that we decided to put it to a vote among the ladies on set. All the dancers, including Madhuri, found the idea hilarious and insisted we go ahead with it. In the end, Madhuri herself did Salman’s makeup for the scene.
This light-hearted anecdote about the now Bollywood classic, ‘Didi Tera Devar Deewana’, added to its charm.
Coming to his current projects, Sooraj R Barjatya ventures into OTT with Bada Naam Karenge. It is a Gen Z love story at its heart that ensures a mix of love, laughter, and nostalgia as it takes you on a heartfelt journey of rediscovering one’s roots.
Directed by Gullak fame Palash Vaswani and Sooraj R. Barjatya himself as the show runner, the series features an ensemble cast including Ritik Ghanshani, Ayesha Kaduskar, Kanwaljeet Singh, Alka Amin, Rajesh Jais, Chitrali Lokesh, Deepika Amin, Jameel Khan, Rajesh Tailang, Anjana Sukhani, Sadhika Sayal, Gyanendra Tripathi, Priyamvada Kant, Omm Dubey, Bhavesh Babani, and more.
As for the music reality show, the episodes of Indian Idol 15 is expected to be a musical extravaganza filled with untold stories, surprises, and the timeless charm of Rajshri magic. It will air this weekend, on February 8 and 9 at 8 pm, only on Sony Entertainment Television. Audiences can also stream the episode on Sony LIV.
