Renowned filmmaker Boney Kapoor is to venture into making of Odia film.
In a bid to foster the growth of the Odia film industry, Boney met with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to discuss potential opportunities.

The filmmaker articulated that he has earlier created films in different languages, and now keen to create one in Odia.
Boney’s interest underscores a growing trend of Bollywood producers exploring diverse regional markets to create content that resonates with India’s multicultural audiences.
His planned projects in Odisha may stimulate economic growth through enhanced tourism and job creation within the region.
“I met the Chief Minister and he is very encouraging. Whatever needs to be done, I will be there. As a measure support system and whatever he can do, he will do to see that the Odia film industry also gets established in a manner where the other industries are.
Today, in South, the film industry is in a big form be it Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, or Telugu,” the filmmaker added.
The filmmaker further added that Cuttack Bali Yatra brings legacy of Odia films to life.
Bengali film industry is also very strong. Punjabi and Gujarati film industries are growing. In Odisha, the film industry should come to the foreground. He has a thought in mind, which he will be discussing with the authorities here, how this can be helped and how this can come into the big league of film industries.
