Harshavardhan Rane basking on the success of re-release of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’

Actor Harshavardhan Rane is basking on the success of his 2016 re-re-release film Sanam Teri Kasam. In a week of its re-release, Sanam Teri Kasam collected Rs. 30 crores at the box office, which is double the amount of its total run during its theatrical release.

Interestingly, Sanam Teri Kasam collected more than last week’s release, Loveyaapa, which features Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan and Sridevi’s daughter Kushi Kapoor in lead roles.

Harshavardhan Rane didn’t get this success overnight like nepo kids and he had to struggle a lot in both Hindi and Telugu film industries to reach this stage.
He has Telugu roots as his mother belongs to Telugu states. Thus, he made his debut with Thakita Thakita in 2010. He finally got his big success, that too with a re-release, in 2025.

Sharing on nepotism and star kids in a recent interview, Rane said that he doesn’t feel insecure about star kids’ opportunities as he believes that most of the star kids fade away soon but outsiders continue to succeed.

Adding that this perspective helps him remain positive and avoid complaining about nepotism.
If we take the case of Bollywood in the last few years, there are many star kids like Kushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Ishan Khatter, Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan struggling to get stardom while outsiders like Rajkumar Rao, Mrunal Thakur, Lakshya (Kill fame), Aysuhmann Khurrana, Taapsee Pannu, Sanya Malhotra and Harshavaran Rane shining well with their films and creating a market of their own.
