Not withstanding hailing from a film family and being a son of superstar Vinod Khanna, Akshaye Khanna didn’t witness as much success like this father. He made his Bollywood debut with Himalay Putra in 1997 which was a flop at the box office. Following that, he starred in two blockbusters Border and Dil Chahta Hai, for which, his performance was widely appreciated. After that, Akshaye starred in several flop films including Mohabbat, Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, Aa Ab Laut Chalen, and Laawaris.
He continued to work and deliver films that either performed average or turned out to be unsuccessful at the box office. In 2022, Akshaye was seen in a crime thriller Drishyam 2, which emerged as the highest grosser of that year. He played the role of Inspector General alongside Tabu and Ajay Devgn.
