After taking oath as Chief Minister of Delhi at the Ramlila Maidan; Rekha Gupta moved to the Secretariat to take charge as Chief Minister. She will further chair the first Cabinet meeting at 7pm today, Thursday 20 February
She was administered the oath of office by
Lt Governor VK Saxena in the presence of
PM Modi.
Alongside Rekha Gupta, Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh, too, took take oath as Delhi ministers.
BJP’s Rekha emerged victorious in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly Constituency, defeating AAP’s Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes in the 2025 Delhi
The swearing-in ceremony was a
high-profile event, with
PM Modi, the Union Cabinet, and Chief Ministers from various states in attendance.
Among the attendees were Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Maharashtra Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh.
She is also scheduled to bisit Vasudev Ghat and Yamuna Bazaar, and by evening, the first Cabinet meeting at the Delhi Secretariat will be held.
Isn’t it shameful that Arvind Kejriwal betrayed the movement he started – he became the CM with his fight against corruption and had started such a massive movement.
She further made it clear that as per CAG from 2016 has not been tabled in Vidhan Sabha till date. So, she wants those reports to be tabled, all the corruption be revealed and strict action be taken. He appealed to the govt to clean the river..
Rekha has risen from the grassroots, being active in campus politics, state organisation, municipal administration and now MLA as well as Chief Minister. She feels
confident she will work for Delhi’s development with full vigour. PM Modi extended her best wishes for a fruitful tenure.
Meanwhile Rekha Gupta’s husband said they had to pinch themselves to believe this…It’s good luck. He further went on to add that PM Modi’s vision is the CM’s vision, vision of Rekha Gupta”
