Hansal Mehta goes for high-stake business
drama for Netflix
Acclaimed filmmaker Hansal Mehta has made a biopic series on Mahatma Gandhi and while the audiences wait for its release, the filmmaker is all set for another project supposed to be a high-stakes business drama for Netflix India featuring Anil Kapoor and Vijay ú ilead roles.
While the name of the show hasn’t been revealed, it is rumoured to be an Indian version of the hit American show Billions.
It will revolve around the rivalry amid two financial powerhouses. Each of them is determined to outsmart the other using their intelligence, power, and influence.
This show could mark one of India’s first web series which dwels into the ruthless world of high finance, ambition, greed, and corporate.
The project is produced by Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment, acknowledged for Airlift, Jalsa, Ram Setu, and Breathe Into the Shadows.
The script has been penned by top-tier writers Niren Bhatt (Stree 2, Munjya, Bhediya), Nikhil Nair (Serious Men, Dahan), and Ankur Pathak.
The Production is set to begin in May and will be filmed across Mumbai, London, and Dubai.
Keeping in mind Hansal Mehta’s work in Scam 1992, this show is something which will have their eyes on.
If it is adapted well and fits into the Indian context, and could redefine how Indian OTT explores corporate conspiracy and financial power struggles.
