. Heavy rainfall and snowfall in Jammu & Kashmir-movement disrupted
Jammu & Kashmir are gripped with heavy rainfall and snowfall disrupting road air and rail traffic and even public movement too over the past 24 hours.
Several prominent highways, including the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), stands blocked due to heavy snow accumulation, landslides, and shooting stones.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remains impassable due to heavy snow between Ramsoo and Qazigund, while landslides at Nashri and the NAVYUG Tunnel have worsened the situation. The Batote-Doda road has also been shut following a landslide
Flight operations at Srinagar International Airport were affected on Friday morning, with all scheduled flights facing delays due to poor weather conditions. According to confirmation from Javed Anjum, Airport director, passengers have been advised to stay updated on rescheduled departures.
Train services in Kashmir have also been impacted. While the Budgam-Banihal section is operational, services in the Baramulla section are running late due to heavy snow accumulation.
Authorities have urged travellers to check for updates before undertaking journeys and advised caution in the wake of continuing inclement weather.
