Salim Khan, legendary writer honoured with ‘Reel Legend’
The News18 Showsha Reel Awards was held on Thursday, March 20, at the Jio Convention Centre. The award ceremony honoured the best talents in the Hindi film industry and celebrated the work of the iconic Salim Khan.
The legendary screenwriter was honoured with the Reel Legend Award as Sholay, one of his most prominent works, completed 50 years.
Salim Khan was given a standing ovation as he made his way to the stage. He received the award from Rang De Basanti filmmaker Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra. Salim Khan, in collaboration with Javed Akhtar, has written some of the most iconic Hindi films. Together, they penned the screenplays for Bollywood classics including ‘Sholay’ (1975), ‘Deewaar’ (1975), ‘Don’ (1978), and ‘Kranti’ (1981).
